Marty is a CFP® Professional, Licensed Insurance Specialist and Bee Street Advisors Senior Tax Manager, dedicated to assisting individuals and small businesses in meeting their goals and objectives. He prides himself on investing the time necessary to understand client needs and working in their best interest to create positive impacts in their lives. Marty strives to be his clients' most trusted and available advisor, he meets and communicates with clients on business days, nights, and weekends.

Marty has 30-plus years of experience as CEO and CFO of privately and publicly owned businesses; involved in all stages of business development, project management, marketing, capital funding and financial reporting including Investor, Bank, Regulatory and SEC. He previously worked as a CPA with 8 years of Big 4 public accounting, tax and entrepreneurial services experience.

In 2017, after a successful battle with brain cancer, Marty decided to use his experience to help others through life's challenges. He knew he needed to broaden his knowledge so he went "back to school" after 40 years to become a licensed Health, Life and Accident Insurance professional, and most recently obtained his CFP® certification. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Financial Planning and teaches the Income Tax Planning course for CFP® aspirants at the College of Charleston. Marty offers investment advisory services as an investment adviser representative of Strategic Blueprint.

Marty is originally from New Jersey but now calls downtown Charleston his home. He operates from both Bee Street Advisors offices - in downtown Charleston on Meeting Street and on Dorchester Rd in North Charleston.

Marty's wife Sharon is a CPA and they have two successful children: Adam, a Real Estate Developer and CPA in Boston; and Samantha, a colorectal surgeon at UMass Memorial, and a MUSC graduate. The Sergis are very active in their Catholic churches. Marty provides leadership in the Charleston and South Carolina Knights of Columbus. He also helps Charleston homeless people with their government benefits.
